In accordance with the directives of the SOLID Program proclaimed by PT PLN (Persero), PT PLN Enjiniring as a subsidiary seeks to accelerate the development of the competence of Engineering Design through collaboration with STT PLN. This collaboration was outlined in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding or MoU on Wednesday (27/03) at the STT PLN Duri Kosambi Campus, West Jakarta. The signing was carried out by the Chairman of STT PLN, Supriadi Legino, with the Finance and HR Director of PT PLN Enjiniring, Alfi Zamzami, as a representative from PLN Engineering.
“Following up on the SOLID program, PLNE was assigned as an engineering service enabler for all PLN projects,” said Deriketur Finance and HR of PT PLN Enjiniring, Alfi Zamzami.
SOLID which stands for Securing Business Sustainability, Optimizing Cost Efficiency, Leading Industry Capabilities, Increase Profit/Margin Contribution, and Developing New Edge, is PLN’s step in aligning the PLN Group’s management portfolio. Alfi Zamzami explained that in the SOLID mission, PLN Engineering was tasked with two things, namely Optimizing Cost Efficiency and Leading Industry Capabilities. This means that PLNE’s task in this mission is to act as a supporting pillar for PLN in order to optimize the cost efficiency of electricity projects at PLN and to become a leading capabilities design center in the electricity industry.
The purpose of this collaboration is that in 2023 PLNE will be ready to become a leading design center in the electricity industry. All preparations were made, namely technical and management preparations starting from the curriculum to the transformation period. So identification of current conditions is also needed to obtain data and information related to the requirements for leading capabilities design center, especially in the areas of curriculum, detail design, refurbishment, teaching staff, strategic partner expertise, and other supporting facilities.
“Currently we (STT PLN) have gained trust in the field of engineering design, especially in detail engineering design, by PLN Engineering,” said the Chairman of STT PLN, Supriadi Legino, before the forum after the MoU signing session.
The Memorandum of Understanding between STT PLN and PLN Engineering covers the preparation of PLN Road Map as the Electricity Industry Capabilities Design Center in the fields of Generation and Transmission, Distribution; organizing education and training as well as mentoring/coaching; HR Competency improvement and development; exchange of academic staff and expertise; mastery of competency pre Feasibility Study, Feasibility Study, basic design, detail design; curriculum development and certified study programs; as well as consulting regarding strategic partner engineering design.
It is hoped that this collaboration will speed up preparations for increasing the competency of PLNE engineers to enter Detail Engineering Design. “Our young engineers (PLNE) are prepared to be able to support SOLID more quickly,” said Alfi Zamzami. Thus, PLNE’s role in the SOLID program will soon be achieved.
