PLN Engineering Knowledge Transfer Cooperation with KEPCO

PLN Engineering Knowledge Transfer Cooperation with KEPCO

PLN Enjiniring and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) are collaborating in increasing competency and various work experiences in their respective countries. This collaboration has been established in the context of developing the company’s business and was set forth in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Mutual Corporation on November 2, 2017.

Transfer Knowledge

Following up on this collaboration, PLN Engineering sent ten employees as representatives in the process of transferring knowledge at KEPCO which took place April 16-21 May 2018. Apart from increasing employee competence, this transfer of knowledge is also in the context of developing the company’s business.

The process of transferring knowledge this time focuses on training that carries the concept of basic and detailed design. This activity was accompanied by expertise from KEPCO and was carried out at KEPCO Head Office, Gimcheon – South Korea.

On the other hand, this competency increase is also in accordance with the PLN SOLID concept promoted by PT PLN (Persero). In this case, PLN is mapping the electricity business for the PLN Group in order to face global electricity business competition. Thus, PLN Engineering was assigned to have more mastery over the engineering concept to the details of the design.

According to Assistant HR Administration Manager, Bobby Adhipradana, as many as 10 PLN Engineering employees who will later become job pilot project candidates will receive in-depth material in Korea for 25 working days or 150 hours of training. Transfer Knowledge is not part of the engineer’s certification and competency testing is not carried out. “The activities carried out are in class training and site visits to PLTU 500 MW and heavy industry,” explained Bobby.

Support KPIs

This program is one of the engineering competency improvement programs that can support the Human Capital (HCR) Key Performance Indicator (KPI). Not only that, this program also has an impact on KPI Engineering First Past Yield (EFPY) and Engineering Time Delivery (ETD) related to product quality.

Next, they will be assigned to make a project assignment regarding what has been obtained during the training at KEPCO to be linked to several projects being carried out by PLN Engineering. Apart from that, they are also assigned to make a model detail engineering design .

Through this program, management hopes that the cooperation established between PLN Engineering and KEPCO can provide benefits for each company. PLN Engineering is also committed to continuously improving the competence of its employees and the quality of its products.
